The corona situation with a lot of working from home makes us think about two good workplaces on board where we can both work undisturbed while making video calls. The plan was a new workplace for Mira in the aft cabin and the chart table in the galley for Toine. The disadvantage of the chart table is that Mira cannot go to the kitchen to do something without disturbing Toine.

Toine continues to think after a visit on the Novatrix (HR 49) in the marina of Kiel. Their daughter had the cabin on the starboard side in the front with a folding table to do her homework. We are going to convert that cabin in Marinthe from a bunk bed to a 'super cabin'. Could that include a workplace for Toine 😎?

Toine makes some sketches and Carl thinks along creatively and enthusiastically. The starting point is that the cabin should primarily be used as a sleeping place. We don't want to make any concessions to the bed. We come to the following solution:

1. The bed is foldable with a longitudinal hinge in the right place and two gas springs that keep the bed with mattress and all upright.
2. Under the bed a niche has been made so that there is room for the legs with an easily removable table on top.
3. In the niche there is also room for a heating radiator. Even with the niche we still have enough storage space underneath the bed.
4. As seat Toine uses the foldable Hallberg-Rassy chairs of which we have two on board.

In this way Toine also has a good workplace iand we can use the kitchen and going in/out of the boat without bothering each other 😃👍.
