Unpacking - part 2

The whole month of January is a real trade on marktplaats. We don't keep count anymore but the total number of ads is at least over 150, the total number of packages sent is at least over 70 and the total number of items collected is at least that much or more. Ranging from furniture, children's toys, home and kitchen items, garden stuff, tools and various boat stuff. We have become very adept at making packages with materials we still have and receive from our own orders. We have renamed the empty study into a 'distribution centre'. We can send almost all packages with our own printed shipping labels via the parcel point around the corner. Every day I walk there with several packages and I always lose them. That parcel point now lives off our trade πŸ˜‰ . Top service PostNL πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Far out most experiences via marktplaats are positive. With friendly and nice contacts and happy buyers who buy or take over for their own use. Only once we have a lesser experience with a trader is our suspicion. Probably it goes so well now via marktplaats because of corona now one can not go to shops and the thrift store. That also applies to us; the part that we give away for free or only send at shipping costs would otherwise probably have gone to the thrift store and partly to the dump. This actually feels better .... it feels like a direct contribution to a circular economy 😊. The portion left for the landfill is minimal.

We made a nice contact after selling the big couch and some other stuff. Someone who works for the fire department and in return he likes to drive our full trailer to the dump (after first visiting his fire friends to distribute some stuff). Ideal, it costs us no time and we make others happy.

Marinthe is busy for a whole weekend sorting out all the lego, some of which will be put on the market. A very useful job. The piano is not sold well and fortunately it can go to my sister temporarily until the girls have a place for it ☺️.

In the meantime we're also packing up some boxes to go to storage. But not that many, because we still use a lot of them while we're living in the house. This weekend is all about finding a storage unit. We look at four different options and finally choose a nice 36 m3 box at AllSafe in Breda πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜Š.

The next phase is about to begin. Trade on the marketplace will continue for a while but at a much lower pace. From now on we're going to focus on packing and getting things ready to go to storage. We rented a small truck for next Saturday to take all the stuff that doesn't fit in the car to the storage in Breda. Including our bed, so this is the last week we will be living in our house. It is good to have set the date now. After that there is still enough time to clean up the last stuff before February 26th. Going well 😊😊 πŸ‘πŸ‘.
