On the boat in times of the corona virus

We have been hauled in the water on March 17th 😄. Because of the corona virus we both work from home since March 10th. So we decided to go back into the water a week earlier. Every day the situation changes, so we like it to be back on a floating boat with these insecurities.

The weekend of 21/22 March is cold with a lot of wind. Too much wind to set the sails. We are inside all weekend, cozy in our own cocoon, and have good ideas for improvements. With the result that we buy a matching pouffe, nice for our feet 😊. Also some nice colored bowls that fit well with the tablecloth.

Toine connects all the electricity in the mast and I write the blog about our Internet improvements. This is how we spend our weekend.

During the week Toine is on board almost every day to work (not on the boat, but for his work 😎). We both have a lot of skype and team calls and Toine prefers to be on the boat. Especially now that we're a bit more limited in our space at home with the girls both at home and a broken heater in the living and study room.

This weekend we have a cosy time on the boat with the four of us. The sails have already been set by the two of us last Wednesday. As soon as we arrive on Friday evening we read that as of next Monday it is no longer allowed to spend the night in Zeeland as a tourist, not even on our own boat 😥. So we enjoy our time as long as is possible. The wind is strong, 5-7 bft from the north-northeast, fortunately with a clear sky. It is a wonderful sailing trip to Ossehoek, beam reach / close haule with reef 2 in mainsail and the cutter. The boat is perfectly in balance.

At Ossehoek we have a fairly sheltered spot, lovely in the sun. However, at the end of the afternoon we decide to sail back to Bru, because the wind is expected to increase even more, pushing us a bit too much against the dock. It is more relaxing to sleep in the marina of Bru 😅. We sail back with plenty of wind only with the cutter in bft 7-8. Once back we have a nice evening with good food and we watch a good movie.
Well, too bad that we are not allowed to spend the night in Zeeland and on the Grevelingen for the time being. It is impossible to infect someone while we are on your own boat at anchor? However the most important thing for now is that we stay healthy and follow the guidelines for the health of others. The rest is less important and will come again. We are so blessed anyway that we are still healthy all four of us, that we are able to do our work / study from home and that we are able to make day trips to the boat 😔.
