We left after a warm and emotional farewell

We left ๐Ÿ˜Šโ›ต๏ธโ˜€๏ธ. After a warm and also somewhat emotional farewell ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿ˜Š. We look back on a very special weekend that we will never forget!

On Friday evening Eline and Jonas are already with us in the apartment. On Saturday early afternoon we pick up Marinthe and Sam at Eindhoven airport. Nice to be with the six of us again๐Ÿ˜Š.

At the end of the afternoon, we pull the door of our apartment shut behind us. Quite a milestone, because if all goes well it will be some time before we will be here again!

We drive to Utrecht for a delicious and special dinner at our favorite Japanese restaurant. Here we are gifted a very nice photo book with sweet words from our daughters๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜. After dinner we drive to Bruinisse and spend a night with the six of us on the boat. In the morning we get up quietly, prepare the boat and sail it to the Sailors Inn jetty. By then it is already lovely sunny weather โ˜€๏ธ.

Soon family and friends are trickling in. While enjoying tea/coffee with a Zeeland bolus and a cup of soup, we catch up with everyone. Thanks Sailors Inn for the perfect organization ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘.
Over a glass of processo, we toast to our adventure and the farewell that comes with it. Pieter gives a nice talk on behalf of the family and hands us a bucket list made by the family that we must complete in the coming years! Very nice ๐Ÿ˜!

Around 1 pm we say goodbye to everyone (quite emotional โ˜บ๏ธ), get on board and are waved goodbye while sailing away. Thanks everyone for coming and the nice presents ๐Ÿฅฐ .

How lucky we are with the weather, until late in the afternoon it is lovely and sunny and warm. We immediately went through the three locks (Grevelingen, Krammer and Volkerak) and anchored for the night on the Hollands Diep. What a special and emotional day, we have to recover from that โ˜บ๏ธโค๏ธ.

'Pretty emotional...' I can imagine. But how beautiful is it that all those people are so important to you that the parting is so hard?

I wish you a beautiful journey. Come back only when it feels like the best destination.

    Fair winds!
