In the second, third and fourth weekend of April we do our first sailing, anchor and sailing experiences. Very nice and exciting again. Many things work the same as at the Brandaan, but some things are really different, and of course it's one size bigger.
The first weekend alone on the motorbike to the Hals and anchor there. With a bottle of champagne we christen the SeaQuest. Inside it's wonderfully spacious. The chairs are good, it's cosy and spacious in the cabin and the kitchen is very conveniently furnished. The beds sleep wonderfully. The girls each have their own 'room'; Eline in front in the tip and Marinthe in the room in front with the bunk bed. We feel very privileged with such a boat.
The second weekend we sail with wind force 4 in the direction of Ossehoek and there we are anchored in a nice spot sheltered from the north-east wind. Lovely in the sun with some family activities and also attention to homework of the girls. The next day back we get our choice. Crossing in wind force 7-8. With reef 2-3 in the mainsail and only the cutter jib full it goes very well. The boat is so quiet and solid in the water. The girls help more and more, especially with the sailing itself. Really enjoy.
The last weekend we sail quietly on the engine east of the Mossel Bank and anchor there. We have a lovely quiet afternoon on the boat and at the end of the afternoon we get a visit from Jan and Ellen from the Barbarossa with their dinghy for a drink and food. Always cozy with them.
And so we have our first experiences with the SeaQuest in three weekends between all the sports activities of the girls.
