On Friday 21 February we will visit the HR yard together with 37 others. HRC membersA fantastic experience to see the production process and construction of our brand boat from start to finish in real life with explanations from Magnus Rassy himself.
We start early in the morning in Kungshamn where they make the polyster shells. We see the mould from which our boat is made on the outside terrain. At the moment only the HR340, HR44 and HR57 are in production. We walk around for over an hour on the terrain and through the various halls where about 8 employees are working.
Then we drive in an hour to Ellös on the island of Orust. Through the beautiful Swedish landscape. At the Ellös shipyard the production process continues after the polyester outer edges have been brought there by truck. The work is divided into three teams: electronics, wood & carpentry, other. We had seen this part of the shipyard once before, but not while employees are just working. We take a look at all the halls and parts of the shipyard. Very impressive to see how much handicraft and craftsmanship is involved in building a boat.
In the evening then a nice closing dinner at a nice place. And the next day back home by plane. A very successful outing!
