The SeaQuest is ready for a well deserved 'hibernation'. Last weekend was the last sailing trip of the year. In the sunshine in the marina of Wemeldinge we took the sails off. Coming Friday we sail to Brouwershaven and there the boat will be taken out of the water by Van Ast to get a dry place in their hall. 

It has been beautiful, we can feel that for ourselves. The SeaQuest is in dire need of cleaning; there is a whole collection of growth on the underside of the boat and the bow thruster, too, is only doing part of the power due to growth. The boom holder has been removed since our arrival in Brittany and gone for repair. That too is not sailing so well, especially with strong winds. 

In spite of all this we have had some wonderful sailing weekends in the beautiful province of Zeeland the past few weeks with a lot of fun. We are regularly asked what it's like to be back and if we are used to being here again. All four of us can answer those questions with 'yes, we think it's totally fine to be back, we are in the life here with work, school, family and friends, and appreciate everything we have here enormously'. 

Of course, we also look back on a fantastic year. We regularly recollect memories. Especially the 'exactly one year ago we were / did ...' is a favourite topic of conversation. 

This site, together with the SeaQuest, now goes into 'hibernation'. See you next year!
