On top of the davits is a great place for a solar panel with a standard size of 2Γ1 meters. We got tips from other boats on how to attach the panel. Toine finally chooses a way he made up himself. The mounting pieces are neatly tailored to the design by a specialist in Zierikzee. Toine then assembles the panel himself, using a new larger purchased potted nail pliers π. The fastening looks very good and is completely to Toine's likingππ. This way, it is very easy to take the panel off and replace it with a slightly different size, as it also fits the mounting pieces.Β
Now in the spring we immediately notice the output of the solar panel. When we anchor or moor to an island on the Grevelingen the next morning the battery is usually already quite a bit empty, but now with the solar panel and a bit of sunshine we are already keeping up with our usage quite nicely. We are totally happy with it π.
