As we get closer to living aboard this makes us think about the layout of the beds in our cabin and the bunk bed in Marinthe's cabin.

We now have the model with two separate beds with a bench in between and would like to replace it with one large center bed with two benches on each side. Our double bed is big enough to sleep in with the two of us but not so handy when getting in and out; Toine always has to tumble over me 😅. The other single bed is useful when sailing at night because often one of the girls lies there. Well, in the future we will sail more often with the two of us and also with the four of us there are enough places to sleep with a center bed when sailing at night.
The advantage of a center bed is not only easier to get in and out but also more space on both sides to put things like iphone and ipad down. And there is a nice table on the starboard side which can be my workplace 😄.

In Marinthe's cabin is a bunk bed with two closets. We would like to replace this by a double bed. The closets and also the wall will be removed. Instead there will be a door between the cabin and the front part. This will make Marinthe's room more spacious and we get more storage space for larger things under the bed which will also be a bit higher.

Well, a good thing to have this wish, but how do we get it done in a neat way with materials from Hallberg Rassy? First we ask Rassy if they approve on this renovation and if they can do it for us. Rassy says it's possible but doesn't have the time and refers us to Adams Boat Care. This is a Swedish shipyard close to Hallberg-Rassy specialized in rebuilding HR boats.

We're getting in touch with Carl and Anna from Adams Boat Care. They would like to do this renovation for us, can order the materials at Rassy and think they need about 6-8 weeks for this. After intensive contact mainly via email we give them the order this week, they order the materials at Rassy and we agree on the starting date of August 17th 😄. We will then be able to leave the boat there at the end of our summer holiday and with that the destination of the summer holiday will be fixed at 👍. We also have a nice trip back to the Netherlands in the offing somewhere at the end of September or the beginning of October.
